What are cookies and browser storage?
Cookies are small data items stored by your browser. Local storage and session storage are related technologies that can save preferences on your device. Some storage is necessary for security and your requested settings; optional tracking should require consent.
Storage used by our website
The Nordic Star website stores your Winter/Summer display choice in session storage for the browsing session. It records your cookie consent decision in local storage for up to approximately six months. WordPress may set login and administrative security cookies for logged-in users. The contact form uses a WordPress security nonce and server-side temporary rate limits to prevent abuse.
Analytics and marketing
Our Nordic Star plugin does not itself initiate optional analytics or advertising trackers. These categories default to off in the consent banner. If Google Analytics, advertising pixels or third-party embeds are later added by another plugin, those scripts must be separately checked, blocked until consent where required and listed in this policy.
External connections
Hosted fonts and external assets can transfer technical request information even without cookies. Following links to our external booking provider or WhatsApp transfers you to independent websites with their own cookie notices and preferences.
Your cookie choices
You can to accept, reject or customize optional categories. Rejecting optional categories does not prevent essential site functionality. You may also clear browser storage in your browser settings, which can reset your preferences.
